Q - question

Material density as a custom iProperty in Inventor.

A - answer Density for parts containing a single material type can be calculated from their mass and volume.

To add a custom iProperty containing the density value in your IPT file you can use the following simple iLogic macro:

density = iProperties.Mass/iProperties.Volume
iProperties.Value("Custom", "Density") = Round(density*1000*1000, 4) & " g/cm^3"
(omit the units suffix to use Density as a number)
