Q - question

Missing options when importing STEP files into Inventor.

A - answer I'm missing the assembly import options in the option dialog while loading the .step or .stp file.

The behavior of the import options dialog depends on whether you are importing the STEP file into the component environment (3D Model > Create > Import) or opening it with the standard Open (or using drag-n-drop, or "Place Imported CAD Files") command.

The Import command only offers the option to import the assembly into a part with multiple solids:

A completely missing option dialog can be brought back with resetting the Inventor user profile (see the Windows Start menu).
