Multicolor dimension texts in AutoCAD.

The standard dimension object in AutoCAD consists of multiple components and their style (including color) can be individually influenced with the dimension style and dimensioning variables (style override).

But you can also display the dimension text alone in multiple colors. It can be achieved with the paragraph text (mtext) control codes. An overview of these control sequences can be found in the tip 8640.

In the dimension style dialog (DIMSTYLE), you can use these codes to set prefix and suffix for primary and alternate units. E.g. the setting of the string \C2;oprac.\C7; in the field Primary units > Suffix displays the added text "oprac." in yellow color in a standard, non-overridden dimension (similarly: \C5; for blue alternate units):

Similarly you can use control codes (characters) to display any dimension text as a subscript or superscript (index) - see the code \S^.
