Q - question

New layout view created by copying an existing one is always Off.

A - answer When copying viewports in a layout, the new viewport (view) is always off and has to be switched on manually (-VPORTS, option On, or in the Properties palette).

This won't be neccessary if the automatic drawing regeneration is on – the variable/command REGENAUTO has to be preset to On.
