Q - question

Problem inserting the current version of a component from Content Center.

A - answer If you get the "Unable to create component" error when trying to insert a component from a local Content Center, or if Inventor still inserts an old, outdated version of a component after you updated it (or its thumbnail) in the Content Center, clear the local cache of your Content Center.

This cache is stored in the folder (by the Inventor version):

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Inventor 2013\Content Center\CMCache

or (WinXP):

c:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Autodesk\Inventor 2013\Content Center\CMCache

Rename or delete this folder and restart Inventor.
