How to get the center gravity of an area?

Convert your area (e.g. an irregular shape or a polygon) to a region (with the REGION command) and then use the MASSPROP command on that region. You will find the center of gravity and moment of inertia of this zero-thickness body. Before MASSPROP you may need to switch the UCS to that object (UCS New Object).

You can use the geometric calculator - enter the POINT command and on the coordinates prompt ender 'CAL. As an expression, enter (end+end+end)/3 (for triangle) or e.g. (end+end+end+end+end)/5 (pentagon) and click the individual vertices.

Alternatively, Autodesk Map 3D offers direct centroid-related functions.
