Where to find an official description of the DXF format?

A - answer Specification of the Autodesk data exchange format - DXF (R13, R14, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006...) can be found on http://www.autodesk.com/techpubs/autocad/acad2000/dxf/index.htm and on www.autodesk.com/dxf (or in AutoCAD Help).
