Q - question

How to replace one block with another one?

A - answer How to easily replace (update) e.g. all the "OLD" block references in my drawing with the geometry of the "NEW" block (in NEW.DWG)?

Use a simple command syntax of:

_-INSERT OLD=NEW.DWG

generally:

_-insert old_block_name=new_block_filename

Then interrupt (cancel) the command. In scripts, use the ^C code for this (ETX, Alt+003).

You can also use the BLOCKREPLACE command from Express Tools. It can optionally purge orphaned block definitions. See also the RIBlock utility.
