Q - question

How to change a standalone (local) AutoCAD license to a floating license without reinstalling?

A - answer Please note this is an unsupported method, works only on locked (international) versions of AutoCAD 2002 (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) based products. And of course you need to own the network license (and have the license server running).

Using REGEDIT change the Registry key:

from the value of 2a (C-Dilla) to 19 (FlexLM)

Please note the "R15.0" string changes with version and the "1:405" string changes with product type (Map, ADT...) and language (German, Italian...). E.g.:

Of course you have to specify the licpath.lic file contents (in AutoCAD folder) to match your FlexLM license server.
