How to get rid of lines going through drawing texts?

For better readability you may need to mask out lines/entities bleeding through text characters.

You can use the WIPEOUT command and manually setup a mask and adjust its drawing order. Since AutoCAD version 2005 you can use much easier method - the new text property "Background mask" (applies to MTexts and dimension texts). If you enable it (e.g. in the Properties palette), all lines near and under that text enity will be masked out automatically. If you still have some lines 'above' the text (as for draworder), bring back your text to front with the TEXTTOFRONT command.
