How to change the number of visible command-lines from a script or routine?

A - answer Execute the following LISP command to set the number of lines in a command window (e.g. to 9):
(setenv "CmdVisLines" "9")
(Doesn't work in the AutoCAD 2004 and 2005 families - you can only getenv there)
