Q - question

Drawing texts driven by database contents.

A - answer The dbConnect function, available in AutoCAD since version 2000 (formerly ASE), can easily insert drawing texts which change according to the contents of an external database.

Run dbConnect (Ctrl+6), connect to your database (data source - SQL, MS Access/MDB, dBase, ODBC, etc.) and set the label template (text size, justification, etc.). Then you can insert either Attached labels (by objects) or Freestanding labels (MTexts controlled by the database) linked to the selected records of your database tables. On any change in the external database also the drawing contents (labels) will be changed - see the DBCRELOADLABELS command.
