Slow network file operations in Windows Vista?

In Windows Vista, you may encounter a problem of slow file copy (transfer) over network in Windows aplications (not only CAD) or in Windows Explorer. Try the following fix.

In a combination of some applications and some network components (esp. LAN routers) there may be a conflict with the Windows Vista network function "Receive window auto-tuning". This function can be disabled with the command (admin level required):

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

But first apply SP1 (or higher) for Windows Vista.

If this wont't help, you can get this function back on with:

  
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
