Q - question

Next available number in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

A - answer When creating points in Civil 3D, automatic point numbering is usually used. To find the next available point number (the next free number) you can use the function in the "Create points" panel.

Run the panel with Points > Create points (AeccCreatePointManual) and under the first icon find the line Point Identity > Next point number. You can also set (change) this number.

Another option for this setting is the Toolspace palette. On the Settings tab go to Point > Commands > CreatePoints. Right-click and choose "Edit Command Settings". In the following dialog then go to Point Identity > Next Point Number. Here you can also lock this value.
