What are the Autodesk file formats .APF and .A3S?

A - answer The .APF (Aruba Packet File) format files are 3D models of the scenes from the application Autodesk Showcase, together with their description XML files .A3S.

Autodesk Showcase creates interactive photorealistic scenes from digital prototypes designed in Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Alias, Solidworks, CATIA and others.

The Showcase scenes can be also viewed in the free Showcase Viewer - see Download.
