Q - question

Revit installation hangs at "Preparing Revit Content".

A - answer During Revit installation, the installer "hangs" at the step "Preparing Revit Content".

If you are installing from the downloaded version of Revit and you have choosen to install the content (libraries), Revit needs to download these libraries from the internet during the installation. If the installer does not get the internet connection for some reason (firewall, antivirus, disconnected, MSIE security settings), the installation will "hang".

Try to add *.autodesk.com to the list of trusted sites in Internet Explorer and retry the installation from the Administrator account.

Also check the libraries you are installing. If you select all available national libraries, the installer will download about 15 GB of data, which could take some time - depending on your connectivity (and so the installation may appear as "hanging"). Limit the downloaded content only to neccessary libraries.
