Q - question

Rhomboid - how to draw parallelograms in AutoCAD?

A - answer With the freeware utility Rhomboid you can quickly a easily construct 2D rhomboids (parallelograms, parallel quadrilaterals) in AutoCAD using various construction methods.

Download the LISP application from Download, load it into your AutoCAD with APPLOAD and start it by typing the RHOMBOID command (or PARALLELOGRAM). The application prompts to specify the first base side by picking two points or specifying its length and angle and then you can define the rhomboid by entering the length and angle of its second side, by its height or side offset of the second base (delta).

The parallelogram construction modes:

  • SSA - side, side, angle
  • SHA - side, height, angle
  • SAS - side, angle, side
  • SDS - side, delta, side
  • SDH - side, delta, height
