Q - question

ScaleBB - scale multiple objects to their ref.points or bounding boxes

A - answer With the freeware utility ScaleBB you can scale multiple selected objects in your AutoCAD drawing, respective to their individual reference points or their bounding boxes. The similar included function RotateBB allows also individual rotation of the objects, again around their reference points.

Download ScaleBB from Download, load it into your AutoCAD with APPLOAD and type SCALEBB or ROTATEBB to run the command. Select the objects to scale and now move your mouse to dynamically set the common scale factor or rotation angle for all selected objects. You can specify the scale factor (and then scale the objects) relatively to the reference point of each object (the measurement is performed on the first one, by default), or to their bounding box (least rectangle) - either center or lower-left point. The current mode and scale factor are displayed in the status line.

These modes can be switched by pressing the keyboard buttons - R for reference point (default), C for bounding-box center, L for lower left point, N to switch to the next object to set the measurement, or T to set the scale factor (or rotation angle) numerically, by keyboard typing. The option O (rOt) switches to the rotation mode and S switches back to scaling. Confirm the dragged scale factor by mouse-pick or by Enter or Space.

The individual SCALE resp. ROTATE commands on the selected objects are performed using the last selected modes - Reference, Center or Left.

See example:

This function is similar to the "Transform Each" tool in Adobe Illustrator.

Note: avoid using RefPoint modes with HATCHes and other special objects with no reference points
