Q - question

Using OpenOffice/LibreOffice Calc with Autodesk Inventor.

A - answer For some table and parametric operations (e.g. iParts, iAssemblies, threads, Content Center publishing), Autodesk Inventor requires Microsoft Excel to be installed (see the system requirements), and it is not compatible with other spreadsheet applications like Calc from OpenOffice.org, resp. Libre Office, GNumeric, Lotus Symphony, 1-2-3, KOffice, StarOffice, GNome, WPS, etc.

The file compatibility (XLS/XLSX) is not important for this, the inter-application communication depends on the API and object model compatibility of the spreadsheet software.
