Q - question

What are the files .fmsh, .fwiz, .fins and similar?

A - answer The files with extensions .fins, .fsat, .ftes, .fwiz, .fmsh, .fres are data files from Autodesk Simulation, resp. from the FEA module in Inventor Professional (Stress Analysis). E.g. the file FRES contains the results of the simulation, FMSH contains the meshed model.

If these files appear in your Inventor assembly tree browser, re-register the utility executable FEAFilesHandler.exe with Admin rights - from the DOS/CMD window, run:

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2013\Bin\FEAFilesHandler.exe" /regserver
