Why does Inventor load my assembly in Express Mode?

A - answer By default, Inventor 2014 loads IAM assemblies in standard (full) mode and uses the Express mode only on demand (see Assemble > Productivity, or the checkbox in Open > Options...). But if an assembly contains more than 500 parts (referenced files) and the Express mode is available, this assembly is opened directly in the Express mode. This behaviour and the number of files can be set in the Application options on the Assembly tab:

If you have your IAM assembly opened in the fast Express mode (will be indicated as shown below) and you need one of those editing functions which require the full mode, you can use the button "Load Full" (available in all ribbon tabs).
