Please help!!!I'm running AutoCAD 2013, but can't get the archstyl.shx to display. I checked and double-checked everywhere that the file should be loaded and still not getting the correct display.Any help would be great.

Are you sure you have the font and not the shape file?If it is a font file where did you put it on your hard drive? What folder?

I put the file in the AutoCAD 2013 font folder. It is showing 'archstyl' as active in the mtext editor, but does not display it in the preview window of the editor or after exiting the editor.

OK...I found the file online and have been able to reproduce your problem. Let me see if I can come up with a solution.I think I see what is happening. When you go looking for the font it seems as though it is not listed. The list of fonts, at least in my case, starts with Arial.ttf which appears at the very top of the window. Scroll UP one entry and you should find Archstyl.shx listed. I did and I was able to load and use it in my test drawing. I can even post an image if you'd like.BTW...I was able to use the font in both single line and multiline text.

John, thank you. I looked for 'arial.ttf', but it was in an obscure Windows folder: [C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-font-truetype-arial_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17621_none_d09ba6bac4056b40]. I have a strong feeling that loading 'archstyl.shx' in that directory wouldn't help because it says it's a backup directory. If you don't mind, I think I'll take you up on your offer of posting that image. Thanks again, sanbar406

John, I got it. It may have been the 'archstyl.shx' file itself. I downloaded another of same from a different location, plugged it into the same directory as previous, opened AutoCAD, changed the style in 'mtext' editor and voila, it worked.Thank you again for your assistance,sanbar406

All Windows fonts should be in the Fonts (note the "s") sub-folder in the Windows main folder on the root drive of your computer. Anyways, you wouldn't put a SHX font in that folder since it really belongs in the AutoCAD font folder.
