IS there a way to visible  see your blocks as you are insert and rotating them?  

Blocks that have their basepoint somewhere on the geometry will come in attached to your crosshairs.  However, if someone created a block somewhere far away from 0,0 but used that as their basepoint you may not see the block at all.
