Hi fellows,

I have a very serious problem in autocad 2010, I don't know if it is connected to the autocad 2010 directly, or something that should be installed but when I click a command like "a line" for example I draw only 3-4 lines and the command is broke, and I have to choose the command again. this happens with a lot of commands.

Did anyone have this problem?! what to do ?

by the way , the problem accur after formatting my computer and installed it again , before the formatting it works fine.

So is it anything that I forgot to install?

Thanks in advance.

It looks rather like a faulty keyboard or mouse (issuing Enter/right-click randomly).

Thank you  Vladimir  for quick answer,

I have a Logitech mouse and keyboard , I didn't installed the driver for them , only use the default what windows suggest.

I will try now to install the driver for the mouse and see if it will work.

Do you think of another thing that can cause the problem?!

Thanks,

It depends on how the commands end - with any error message? or just to the "Command:" prompt?

Hi Vladimir

No, The solution is not the driver of the mouse and I still have this problem , as I said - when I draw a line for ex. the command breaks after 3-4 times , I have copy - paste the command line as it apears when I do this -

Specify next point or [Close/Undo]:Specify next point or [Close/Undo]:Specify next point or [Close/Undo]:Specify next point or [Close/Undo]: *Cancel*Command:

Please anyone as another idea , it works fine before I formated my computer.

Thanks

Does this happen in any other program besides AutoCAD?How are you invoking the command?  Do you click the line command in the Ribbon?  Do you type LINE (or just L) on the command line?  Have you edited the Ribbon or are you using a lisp routine?

The *Cancel* message indicates that AutoCAD has received a cancel command - most probably pressing the ESC key (either real or 'ghost' - through a faulty keyboard).

Hi Vladimir,

I call the commands mostly by clicking the icons ,

when I clicked the "line" icon in draw toolbar , I could draw 3 or 4 lines and the it break the command and as you see I got "cancel" in command line , I have to mention that if I work very slowly , I mean click very slowly on the mouse bottons it draws more than 4 lines,

something else that I want to mention is - that when I formatted the computer I installed the Nortons symantec antivirus , made all the microsoft windows updates from the site and than installed autocad 2010. thats all .

Did I miss something that should be installed?

this phenomenon occur with my 2 computers at work , and 1 computer at home , with my laptop the autocad 2010 works fine.

I would still suspect a hardware problem.

You can try to simulate and show what AutoCAD gets as an input with the following LISP expression - copy it to AutoCAD command line and press Enter:

(while (print(grread)))

Now click individual points with your mouse. You should get results starting with 3.

HI Vladimir

You're right I get numbers starting with 3 , but as you can see with the copy-paste that I did:

(3 (1675.66 1289.84 0.0))(3 (1826.83 1289.84 0.0))(3 (1838.46 1285.98 0.0))(3 (1788.07 1270.55 0.0))(4 0)(3 (1508.99 1270.55 0.0))(3 (1164.01 1255.12 0.0))(3 (1043.84 1193.39 0.0))(3 (1276.42 1162.53 0.0))(3 (1629.15 1239.69 0.0))(3 (1834.58 1309.13 0.0))(3 (1958.62 1320.71 0.0))(3 (1946.99 1301.42 0.0))(3 (1718.3 1258.98 0.0))(4 0)(3 (1361.69 1247.4 0.0))

I get null (ZERO) every 9 clicks, what part of the hardware cause the problem? do you still think I should replace my mouse?!

Thanks

Code 4 is a menu selection - so AutoCAD believes your are picking a pull-down menu item. Either a faulty mouse driver, or some nonstandard mouse-driver setting, or some system add-on tool might cause this.

I can imagine that e.g. the mouse driver thinks you have picked the button #4 (instead of #1) and button #4 might be mapped to ESC.

I have the exact some problem here.I'm using Logitech Optical Mouse. I tried to replace the mouse driver with the updated mouse driver from Logitech but it doesn't help. Then, I reverted back to the Standard Mouse driver from Microsoft. No luck either. Then I tried shutting down services on my system one by one. Finally I found the culprit on the problem. It was Babylon 8. Only then I realized all the problems started when I upgrade my Babylon 7 to Babylon 8.
