How do you create a PDF from a ACAD file?
In Paper Space? in Model Space?

Armondo,
you should download 'primo pdf'... if you do a google search for it, it's free to download.
when you install it, you should see primo pdf in your plot printer selection in autocad.
I think you'll be surprised as to how well the quality turns out.
let me know if you have problems.

At the company I work for, we have a specific dwg to pdf printer installled but it doesnt fit everything on our paper when printing to scale for some reason. We began using software called PDF 995  which is free to download and works pretty good.

Hey Armando,
Remember to send me the actual CAD file so that I can fix it for you. Also, what version of CAD are you using so that I know what to save it as.
Thanks,
nameci(Jeff)

ArmandoWhich version of CAD are you using? There is another "PDF printer driver" available which is cutePDF..  If you print it, using that printer, it will save it to a PDF file..

I wouldn't suggest the cutePDF writer. One bug i found was that it blacks out any wipeout masks when generated into PDF.

I haven't had any issues with cutePDF but I don't use wipeouts either..In answer to the OP, you can create a PDF from either Model or Layout space, but the sizing will be different, due to the differing scales and the lineweights may well be less effective in Model space.  It's usually better to print from Layout space, as that's what it is for.rossassociates2009-03-06 14:11:35

actually make pdf format using autocad file have a same tehnik if you want a plotting you autocad file to paper ,you can play with scale which suitable with paper you want to use,the different is in plotting tab change the printer name to pdf file and this make autocad not plot our file but save in pdf format.

In Autocad 2007 version or above you have in-built printer DWG to PDF.pc3 which can be used to print the drawings directly as PDF files. If you have lower version then install any one external PDF printer. My choice is PDF995.Tomwww.indovance.com

It appears the built-in pdf writer in 2008 has a bug regarding lineweights of hatches. I've heard there is a patch and in fact when printing from the writer in 2009 the problem does not comeup. Any ideas?
