If the command dosent work, might be a un-install, re-install fix?
I just tried mine (on 2010) for sh*ts and giggles, and it worked fine...what version of inventor are you using?

Is it possible to import an inventor file into AutoCAD *.dwg file format?

Tankman, yes you can do that, I must on a daily basis. You have to get your part into an idw (sheet view) layout, then file save as.
nikolcip, its another option on your text ....banner or ribbon or whatever the hell autodesk calls it, called 'geometry text'. You select this, then hightlight the curve (geometry) you want the text aligned too. BAM! aligned text.

Doesn't highlight the geometry ( doesn't highlight anything )

But it is an option, as in it just wont work?
Because that should be the first thing the command makes you do, select the arc or circle.
Maybe you had to have a specfic version, or maybe...it was an add-on; like express tools in acad? That is strange that it dosent highlight anything...are you in sketch mode? working on a adaptive feature maybe? Maybe that would cause problems...
In the worst case, re-install autodesk. But I would exhaust all my options first as you are apperently doing...good luck man!
An hey, hows the weaher down under? Always thought about movin there, to Australia, cause you dont see too many people from your country living here...which means to me that its better, lol, right?!

Yes I am in sketch mode- maybe I am doing something wrong? After creating the arc, click the geometry text, but cannot select any geometry to align the text ( do i have to create text first? )

Wait, maybe you have to actually extrude the part first. So do that, then click sketch again and project geometry, if needed. NOW try to use the command. If it still does not work, I would suggest to create an Autodesk Support Request. If you dont have that service, my next action would be a go around. Copy the object into autocad. Add your text, rotated as you need. Reload into inventor and do a normal extrusion of the text.
