Every year at Autodesk University Autodesk Users Group International “AUGI” present their members nominated and voted product wish lists to Autodesk at their annual meeting which precedes the infamous beer bust. This year was the most products covered in wish lists with: AutoCAD AutoCAD Architecture AutoCAD Civil 3D Inventor Navisworks Revit Architecture Revit MEP Revit Structure I want to sincerely thank every AUGI member that participated in the process. the wipeout frame #9  Tim Turner Edit Page Setups For Multiple Layouts using CTRL+Select and/or SHIFT+ to Select the appropriate layouts #8  Brad Crouse  Ability to abort a hung up function in AutoCAD without shutting down the program #7  Michael Shick  The text in a dimension should have same capability as mtext #6  Jim Gerth  XREF attachment to include toggles to ignore display property overrides from displaying in attached/overlain reference files #5  Jake Delgado  AutoCAD needs linetypes that can use entities other than shapes to show geometry in linetypes #4  Yair Yes  Have the possibility constraint between 2 or more parts (or assemblies) at once #8  Duncan Anderson  Need for the ability to record VBA macros just like MS Word and Solidworks #7  Pasi Annila  Have the option to create a part that has the elasticity to conform to required shapes #6  Josh Hunt  Add a Lock Rotation option to the Insert Constraint #5  Ol Sh  Expand the current table options to be more like an Excel table with the same functionality #4  David Gaskill  Ability to terminate the command without the software crashing #3  David Salyer  Ability to calculate the volume of a shelled or hollowed out part and find the specific gravity if it was filled with a virtual material #2  Rick Hageman  Have the ability to constrain a hole to a slotted part and quickly center the two together Number #1 Inventor Wish Jim Durkin  Have Inventor be able to utilize dual core / quad core processors and therefore use more of the available RAM Navisworks Manage Top Ten Wish List The Navisworks Manage wish list was presented to Richard Parker Sr. Product Manager #10  David Mettler  Add 64-bit multi-processing multi-core rendering to the Presenter rendering engine #9  Daron Denton  Ability to create clash tests confined to a 3 dimensional zone within the building based on a selected mass object of any shape #8  David Sutcliff  Ability of reading of data past line 1757003 in a PDMS attribute file be included in the model #7  Colin Magner  Enable multi-user workflows to allow for effective review of multidiscipline models of whole buildings #6  Michael Smith Ability to define customized shortcut keys #5  Zoran Markovski  A permanent onscreen displayed watermark #4  Joe Perkins  Improve the usability of the dialog box when building a “Find Item search” #3  Michael Smith  Ability to set a proximity and have all clashes within the zone be grouped together #2  Michael Smith  During coordination, have the ability to update just the model instead of having to wait for Navisworks to re-compile the entire project Number #1 Navisworks Manage Wish Jason Matthews  The organization of groupings of clashes is lacking. Revit Structure Top Ten Wish List #10  David Keller  Define wall layers as architectural or structural to control visibility in views #9  Rick Blankenship  Have Pier and Grade Beams instead of using round columns and concrete beams #8  Steve Saltsman  Have the ability to tag part of an elevation. Give us access to all the elevation possibilities #7  Colin Magner  Ability to have Spaces cope with vertically irregular spaces #6  Allen Wear  Make joist extended ends visible on coarse view #5  Melissa Breiter  Have the option to maintain the phasing properties of objects and the phasing relationships between objects when binding a linked architecture model or using copy/monitor #4  Arnout van Ijsseldijk  Ability to align tags of all categories of objects—not just walls.
