Display full version of the post: autocad 2006 & windows vista

I am going out tomorrow to purchase a new LapTop which only comes with windows Vista. Will autocad 2006 work with this system? I currently use windows xp. Any help or advise much appreciated. cheers....

I don't think it will work .... only from 2008 and 2009 version you can use in Vista.

You will probably find problems installing and running AutoCAD 2006 in Vista. The first Vista-compatible version is AutoCAD 2007 SP2 and 2008.

Yeah it appears I will have a no. of problems so the only thing is to somehow have XP rather than Vista, or bite the bullet and upgrade to 2009 ouch...... thanks for the help

And if you decide to upgrade to version 2009 read on Autodesk web site the requirements to work good the laptop ..... take care

I am using Civil 3d 2006 and I am running it on Vista and so far it has run very smoothly.
