Are there any other error messages displayed? Try to use the error reporting utility (customer error reporting) to send the error to Autodesk.

It's important for you to know on what particular command your crash happens, then you can do a "save" before trying that commnad again.
I don't know if your "lt 2008" has any updating releases ( SP1 to SP2 etc... ).
Try to contact your AutoCAD dealer to download the latest ( normaly these SP2 etc... cure the different bugs ).
Isn't your file too big for your computer ?
If the crash happens one one particular file and not on the others try to "control" and "repair" your file with the commands "AUDIT" ( VERIFICA in italian ) and "RECOVER" ( RECUPERA in italian ).
Do you PURGE your files ( command "ELIMINA" in italian ) ?
Please let us know how and if you managed to cure the problems.

AutoCAD LT 2008.  So you have had this program up and running for a while.  When did the problem first occur? What is the exact nature of the problem? What steps have you taken to troubleshoot the problem so far?Have you tried a REPAIR of AutoCAD?
