I recently started using Autocad Architecture 2012, and discovered that the array command is time consumming. In addition, the layer manager has bugs in it. When creating a new layer and assiging a color to the layer, the color of the layer does not correspond to the drop down layer tab in the drawing. Curous, to know if others have experienced either of the above.

I'm using plain AutoCAD 2012 and have experienced the problem you mention re: layer color.  I've seen a number of questions regarding this strange behavior posted all over the place.  To date there has been no clearly defined solution that I know of.  I think AutoDesk is either ignoring it or putting the blame back on the user.  Typical response.

Thanks, I was trying this programme and thought the problems were due to my lack of familiarity. There is definitely a glitch with layer colours and agree the array command is simply dreadful. Why did they change it? Again it may be me, but occasionally if I had several constructs and views open and was copying and pasting between several. I found that the programme would switch back to the construct I was copying from and that I had to close that construct before I could access the construct that I was pasting to. It is not due to shortage of memory, but could be my lack of familiarity.

I've done schematics for a wastewater treatment system and have used lineweights to differentiate between different subsystems.
