Hi there
I am planning on upgrading as well and need to know if AutoCad 2008 LT would run on Windows 7 (64 bit system)
Anyone.........?

I am not sure whether LT 2008 was already available in a native 64-bit version but in any case it is not supported in Windows 7.
AutoCAD LT 2011 is both 64-bit and supports Windows 7 so I would advise to upgrade.

And with regards to the repeat on the new post, I thought this one was lost somewhere in Cyberspace because i couldnt find it for some odd reason.......
I guess it helps that i'm new to this, other than that, I have no excuse...

I have 2008 loaded on my XP Pro 64 bit system at work and it runs just fine. But as Vladimir stated, 2008 is not supported in Win 7. But having said that, I've heard of people running 2006 and even 2004 on Win 7. You just have to run it in XP Compatibility mode. I can't guarantee stability though. You may have issues.

I have Windows 7 64 bit and ACAD 2009 and tried to run ACAD 2009 within Win7 in XP Mode and it is just too slow and laggy. I even upgraded the system to 8 Gig RAM and it had no affect. I say ACAD 2008 (or 2009) has to be run on a computer with Windows XP as the OS. Virtual Machine and XP Mode might work for some other applications but not ACAD. I did set up Virtual Machine to access the extra RAM.
