Hello,I've tried to export a drawing (AutoCAD 2013 for Mac) to .pdf with its layers but it doesn't work (only 'flat' pdf  without layers!) (commands Batch publish and export to pdf).My colleages with WIN have a vast amount of changeable preferences for the .pdf-output, which I don't have (maintain layers, quality of output, etc.). Neither the preferences on Abobe Pro X have any possibilities.I tried a tip from an Adobe blog to downsave the drawing in AutoCAD 2010, but this didn't work either.Any help?? Thanks in advance,Nils

It is my understanding that PDF layer creation in AutoCAD for Mac may be influenced by the OS being used.Isn't the latest OS 10.9 Mavericks? What are you running?By the way, have you installed any service packs?Saw this posted elsewhere as an alternate solution:"You can create layered PDF files on Mac by using AutoCAD WS application (WEB or App Store version)."

Wow, thanks a lot for the quick answer.I'm using the latest version OS (Mavericks 10.9.1) and as far as I remember, the SP2 for AutoCAD2013 was installed recently.I just checked for AutoCAD WS application - it seems for free!? But are you shure it creates the layers within the .pdf export? If so, I'll download it immediately. Thanks anyway,Nils

I run the PC version of AutoCAD so I avoid the problems and pitfalls that beset Mac users therefore I cannot attest to the creation of layers in a PDF using the above referenced application.  I found the info at the AutoCAD for Mac discussion group.  I assume it was posted by another Mac user.

Thanks again, could you give me the link to this Mac-forum? I searched in the net, but didn't find anything ... .It should be embarassing asking one of my colleagues with a PC to export me a .pdf from my drawaing.

You can find the AutoDesk Discussion Groups at the AutoDesk website.http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-for-Mac/bd-p/520

I'm really annoyed! It's in fact impossible in AutoCAD 2013 for Mac to export in multilayered .pdf. Adobe didn't have a solution either, but promised a hotfix for Acrobat Pro in January 2014.The only solution seems to be uploading the .dwg in the cloud and from there you could export it in some way. Have to try it, but it'll get impossible when I'm in the field without internet access ....Hope for a patch in 2014!!!!

Sorry to hear that.  What I don't understand is why AutoCAD for Mac users would be willing to pay more for their hardware (get less in return dollar for dollar) then pay full price for AutoCAD even though it does not have all the functionality of its PC counterpart.  AutoDesk should have discounted the price.
