Copy block
to new drawing, use block editor and save this block as new one _BSAVEAS

Do all
changes you need under new block and you do not need to explode original one

Easier solution:Select the block you want to change.Explode it.Make your changes.Select all of it again and redefine it with a new block name.  Be sure to Retain the linework in the drawing when you create the new block so you don't lose the position.Dave.

Try the use of BLOCKREPLACE ( and ATTSYNC for the blocks with attributes ).

Best method I've used:1) Enter the Block Editor.2) Do all your changes you want to do.3) Save the changes. After you come back to the original drawing, 4) Use  command: BATTMANSelect your block from the upper drop-down menu5) Press the "Sync" button.6) Click the OK button.optional: 7) Use command: REA (to regen all)8) Good luck
