I have been working for my local Council for the last couple of years and the vast majority of my work is to produce 2d civil drawings.  As it is a small engineering office, there is no company standards in terms of line type, line width, etc and most drawings are drawn to the technician's choice.  I find this frustating and would like some sort of reference to work from to improve consistancy and give my drawings a more professional feel.

Can anybody recommend a book or site that will help?

Thanks

I thought everyone in the U.K. followed the BSI Technical Product Specification standard as set out in BS 8888:2006.Perhaps I am mistaken as it appears it is more suitable for the manufacturing sector.  But it might be a good jumping off point for writing your own standards.
