Using '09 LT does anyone know if you can make the preview window any bigger when you go to open a file?

You can just display the fixed raster image created on save. But you can adjust the size of the thumbnail created on save - see the [VAR]THUMBSIZE[/VAR] variable (in full AutoCAD).
