Hello everyone,I would like to know  how to associate a face to a different view.  I would like to change the original view  to a different view  while keeping the drawing  in its axes intact. Some times  you  want a particular view to be  say SE Isometric instead of it being  say SW Isometric. I have an affinity for SE Isometric. But as the drawing progresses I would like to make a different  view my SE Isometric Thanks.

Wouldn't you have to reorient your UCS?

Thanks fr responding John. I did try to reorient the  UCS, but it does not do what I am trying. I am just playing around with this' view ' thing. The easiest way is to 'Rotate ' the drawing  to the view that I want and save it. What I wanted to do was- say I have this  cube -  has named faces like front , back, left, right, top, bottom.  In the SE isometric  view the  front, top and right faces  would be visible. If I go to NW isometric, its just the opposite.  here the back, left and the bottom become visible.  Now my question is can I  swap the SE isometric to show the back, left and the bottom of the cube , because I like this particular view.

Have you considered named views?Dave.

Hello joferna, do you know about the command PLAN associated with a good UCS ( with or without the variable UCSFOLLOW set on : 0 or on : 1 ) ?
I have personnaly set my PGP file with :
1,              *AMDT_FRONT_LEFT_ISO2,              *AMDT_FRONT_RIGHT_ISO3,              *AMDT_BACK_LEFT_ISO4,              *AMDT_BACK_RIGHT_ISO
and it helps me a lot when working in 3D ( those PGP works on my AutoCAD Mechanical 2012 ).
Maybe it's not what you are looking for or maybe it is.

Hi Philippe, & Dave,Thanks for your responses . From what I am aware , I may be wrong, but, RENAME just gives you a custom name for a particular view. Philippe's response is good but does not do what I am trying  to do . Once again thanks 

Do you also repaint the North designation on your compass when you're out hiking so it says south?Good thing you weren't on the Cook or Perry expeditions to the North pole.Use a "named" view.  It's easy, fast and infinitely repeatable.

Hey Mr. Connor,There is no need in this forum to be sarcastic, which I am detecting here.  The reason I wanted to know if there was a way to  interchange views is because when I am  drawing an object and happen to do most of the work on one particular view,  I wanted that particular view to be my favourite view - the SE Isometric . I just wanted to know if it could be done. Thats all.  My humble opinion is that there is no need for me to  go on a Cook or perry expedition  to North pole  or carry a compass that shows  south when I am going north. These comments are totally unwanted . 

In the real world a southwest isometric view is called (guess what) a southwest isometric view.  You want to call it something different.  It just makes no sense.  Do you rename the letter 'A' but still print or write it in the same form?  No, you don't.  Why?  Because it wouldn't make any sense.  My drafting and design instructor would have laughed you right out of class.  Get real.  You were given a workaround which you refuse to use.  I haven't seen any other alternatives yet have you?

are you working in paperspace?if so create a viewport, scale it to whatever size you would like than lock the viewport, doubleclick inside the viewport and change the views to front, back, sw, se etc etc...

Rog: the OP wants to be able to look, for example, at a SW isometric, but call it SE because that is the name he has an affinity for.  Kind of like calling your girlfriend's dog Spike even though its name is Fluffy.
