Looking for some feedback about installing ADT 2005 on a Windows 7, 64 bit computer. I'm getting a lock up on the 3rd disk and can't get the installation completed???Any help would be greatly appreciated.CheersBert

Well, as I'm sure you already know, ADT 2005 is not a 64 bit application and it is not fully compatible with Windows 7. It is also no longer supported by Autodesk, as it has been retired. So trying to get this old  32 bit software installed and running on a nice shiny new 64 bit operating system is going to be tricky at best.

Do you have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate? If you have either one of these, then you can install "Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC". This may be one way to get your ADT 2005 installed and running. See here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/

If you have Windows 7 Home, then the above is not an option for you.

Well as luck would have it I have Windows 7 Home premium on the system I'm wanting to install on. If I was sure I could get it to work I'd by the Pro 7 upgrade, bucking up for the newest version of autocad for the amount of use my notebook will get is not feasible.Appreciate your inputBert

I had a new system with Windows 7 Pro 64 and I couldn't get ACAD 2009 to run. I tried the Virtual PC with XP mode but it was just too laggy. I upgraded RAM to 8Gig with no improvement. So I'm back on my XP machine in ACAD 2006...

Would be interesting to hear from anybody who has had some success running earlier ADT versions on Win 7, 64 bit in compatibility mode or otherwise. This is sounding less feasible with each postBert
