I have already drawn out 3 different linetypes I want to use as standard linetypes. How do I convert these simple lines into a linetype? Basically I have a series of lines I want to convert into a linetype. The lines appear as follows:---E---E---E---V---V---V---X---X---XI used letters to show what has been drawn as lines in the above examples. I've searched different discussion forums and help on AutoCAD and can't seem to find what I am looking for. I am using vanilla AutoCAD2010.  I found an app that extracts a .lin file out of any drawing which converts any linetype into what it looks like in wordpad.  I copied it into acad.lin but still cannot get it to work on any other computer. Thanks in advance for any help.

For such "textual" linetypes you can use the LTFly utility (see Download). It creates textual linetypes "on the fly".
