Hi folks, my question is this, I draw 1:1 in foot and inch, meaning, when I enter 25 foot 7 inches to draw a line i enter ( 25'7") , however , I also utilize a software called " cranimation". When I enter the crane from cranimation into my drawing, I am forced to scale my drawing down " .0833" , then for my dimensioning to be right , I have to change the scale factor to "12" . Now I can no longer use the symbols for foot and inch , I must use , for example , if i use the same value, 25 foot 7 inches, I would enter (25.5833), now to my question, how can I go back to using the foot and inch symbols after I have scaled the drawing down, and/or change the scale factor, or is it even possible? , Thanks
Why not just scale up the "cranimation" object by 12 so it will have correct units to match your drawing?
We civil folks have the same problem when we use architects drawings (in inches like yours), which we'll scale by 1/12 to fit into site plans which use feet units.
I HAVE ASKED THE CRANIMATION OWNER WHY IT DOESNT AUTOMATICALLY DO IT, AFTER ALL , HE SAYS THAT IT IS BEST TO SET THE UNITS TO ' UNITLESS" BUT I BELIEVE THE CRANES WERE CREATED IN METRIC FORM, I AM REALLY NOT SURE . AND THERE IS NO WHERE ON THE SETTINGS OR EVEN THE CONTROL PANEL OF CRANIMATION THAT I SEE THAT WILL CHANGE IT, AND I CANNOT SCALE THE ACTUAL CRANE UP BCUZ IT INSERTS ON ITS OWN LAYERS , AND LOCKS THE LAYER AND IT IS AN XREF ANYWAY, NOW... I KNOW I CAN UNLOCK THE LAYER , AND SCALE IT UP, BUT THEN I DONT THINK I CAN CONTROL THE CRANE ANY MORE WITH THE CONTROL PANEL.. I WILL TRY IT THO
