Sup guys!I have a detail that I'm using the 'linear dimension' command to detail. I am required to display alternate metric units, and displayed horizontally they are very long, and require me to spread them out and consume more paper space.I would like to display 'Y' axis dimensions aligned with the dimension line (vertical), and leave 'X' axis dims and dia, radii, ect displayed horizontally. When I select the dims and click on properties to modify them...as I would to change...precision for example...the option 'text alignment'...'align with dimension' is NOT an option, as it is if I access the dim style editor. What are my options, short of exploding them and rotating the text?

In the [CMD]DIMSTYLE[/CMD] Editor, on the Text Tab, at the bottom right quadrant, you should be able to set your Text Alignment to "Aligned with dimension line".Does that work for you?

Also, if you pick each dimension that you want the text set to vertical on, you should be able to change the "Text Rotation" property to 90° or 270° depending on the direction you want the text to face.Good Luck!!HAWDesigner2011-01-07 20:12:04

Yeah, I noticed that too when I went back into the properties of the dimension I was going to edit.I'm glad that worked out for you!!
