Hello everybody, I have a question regarding dimensions or file settings.
On my files I can "grip" the dimensions for example to align several dimensions at the same height and there are files that I get from others on wich I can't do this.
There must be something somewhere to do this.

Options > Selection tab > Grips. Have grips been enabled?

Yes John the grips are on ( F3 active ), this happens only with the dimensions, others items such as lines, arcs, etc.. are "gripable".

Did they explode the dimensions?

No, not at all.
Here is a file exctract for you to take a look ( maybe it will work on your computer ).
As this is not the first time for me and that the complete file that I have to work on is loaded with presentations, 3D volumes etc... I have inserted it complete into my prototype file + CTRL+2 to get all the presentations and now it's working properly ( but I'd still want not to have to do this heavy thing again provide I can find the reason why ).

I can stretch the dimension in any direction using the grips. That includes lining two dimensions up without changing them or stretching them in a positive or negative direction with the resultant dim text being changed. But you are saying that you cannot do that?

Yes John, I can modificate the dimension by using the the extremities grips for a change of length for example ( select the dimention, pick up the dimention with the grip, strech it, etc... ) but I can't grip for example a line on the middle of the attached red lines or the middle, extremities, middle between 2 points red dimension line that is under the text.
I use to do this on other files of mine.
Griping the dimension lines is important for me when I work in 3D and that's why I set to zero the "extend beyond dim lines" so that I can avoid any parrallax problems and also copy, scale, 3DALIGN with the automatic scale option all my dimensions that I work just like objects and not only dimensions with only 2 usable grips.
For that subject I'm not dead because I used that complex way of inserting the complete file at 0,0,0 into an other that I know the "way of life" + CTRL+2 to copy all the presentations.

I did not realize we were talking about dimensions in a 3D drawing. If that's the case why did you upload a 2D drawing? When I click on a dimension in your drawing there are five grips. When I click on a dimension in a new drawing of my own there are five grips. What other grips are you looking for? Do me a favor. Start a new drawing. Create one dimension. Click on it to make the grips appear. Stop. Do a screen grab and post the image here. I'd like to see these extra grips you speak of.
