Hi guys this is probably a dumb question and i posted this in the inventor section but i see more viewings here and thought maybe you guys can help but I've been using Inventor for a few months for 3D drawings (inventor 2008)Now my friend wants me to help with some autocad drawings. He wants me to draw 2D parts for him so he can use it in autocad as blocks. (i.e. setting up supports in a side view construction building)Now i'm much faster with sketching to scale in inventor and i'm quite rusty with autocad. Is there a way I could do the 2D sketches in inventor and send it to him in dwg so he can use it?I tried started a new standard.dwg  file from inventor then saving the COPY as autocad drawing. but when I open the file in autocad only the autocad template showed up, not the drawing.Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? or is this even possible? Thanks!

Yes. You need the make the part in 3d, then import to idw, then save copy as, save as acad dwg, then open in acad and explode the part/delete the border. but it will be in a bunch of line segments and sh*t so be warned.
