Hi, can anyone help me with how to start some geometry at a set distance from another point in Draftsight? I think this was using a 'Ghost Line' in AutoCAD.I'd like to use this function all the time to prevent leaving unwanted geometry on drawings which can cause issues.Apologies if I'm in the wrong place or you don't really cover Draftsight.ThanksJim

Hello DrawCADJim, I don't realy use Draftsight but as it's a clone of AutoCAD you should try the same commands as with AutoCAD.To start a geometry with lines try the command LINE and clic for the first point then add a distance with numbers and see...There should be also ARC, CIRCLE, etc...I have noticed a lot of commands with the same name.In fact we did use Draftsight to "lower" AutoCAD files from an upper release to our release and then switch dirrectly to our AutoCAD so...There is an official documentation about Draftsight.

Perhaps you are referring to the FROM (command modifier) which could be used to specify a temporary reference or base point from which the user can specify an offset to locate the next point to start a line?As far as I know there was no "Ghost line" command in AutoCAD.

Then look at XLINES (AutoCAD) or their equivalent in Draftsight.  I think it is called INFINITELINE.
