Hi, I would like some advise, whenever here at the office we create views for our plans we do so using the DVIEW command and then the TWIST option and VIEW to name them. But when we go and do the switch between views we get into the problem that many of the layers that belong to the XREFS are frozen automatically and francly it's a pain to be thawing them all each and everytime we switch views...does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it. Is there a more efficient way of rotating views? We do it this way because many people use the drawings and that way we can name the views the same throughout the project... Please HELP!
Sounds like you may want to use named UCS's rather than named views, so that layer settings aren't changed. But, restoring a UCS doesn't restore the original view (zoom and pan).
When you create a view there is an option to "Save layer snapshot with view".
This means that is will restore the layers to what they were set to when the view was created. Lexxx2010-12-22 11:59:08

I have it as default that "Save layer snapshot with view" is checked, but it seems to be a glitch sometimes when changing views. We don't really like using the UCS procedure to rotate views since there's the high percentage of cases that people forget to put the UCS back to World. There are many people in the office working on the same project at the same time and if even one person forgets to set it back to world it messes up with all the xrefs... I don't know what else to do....!
