While in the DWF viewer, I choose .....import and select a DWG..... I encounter Problems encountered during dwg import.....Any ideas why?

If you mean the Design Review viewer -- it uses Autodesk DWG Trueview for background conversions of DWGs to DWFs. Make sure you have it installed (see Download).

Review will ask you to download and install TrueView when you click
"import". After TrueView is installed, "Import" will be available,
and then when you chose a DWG to import, it will be converted to DWF
and displayed and you can save the DWF.
