I have portions of one drawing that i would like to insert into another drawing (as a world block) but also have to the ability to edit that world block after it is inserted. For example i took a portion of a floor plan from one drawing, saved it as a world block to allow me to insert it into another drawing. After i did this i wanted to remove portions of this world block but it is not possible to "explode" a world block, what am i missing??

A World Block?  Do you mean a WBlock?  WBlock stands for Write Block.  It describes what AutoCAD does when you save a block to your hard drive rather than in the drawing it was created in using the Block command.Blocks can generally be exploded unless they were inserted with different X/Y values.  Or, maybe you have a nested block and you have to explode it more than once.

I am trying to create a world block so i can use it in other drawings, but i haven't figured that out yet. You are right, i was using the wblock. I know if i just create a regular block then it is not available in other drawings, correct?

I have not heard of the term "World Block".  You'll have to explain to me what the difference between a World Block and a WBlock is.Blocks created in individual drawings can still be accessed by way of the Design Center so technically you do not have to use WBlock.
