Dear All,

Can somebody help in finding a solution to the following problem:-

While trying to open an autocad file, I get the message -
"FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0X70746172 Exception at 7c832b4ch."

I have uninstalled the Autocad and re-installed it but still the problem is occuring.

Does it only happen when you try to open a specific file or does it happen on all files? What version of Autocad are you running?Do you have all updates and service packs installed? What are your full computer specs?

Dear Sir,

The problem is faced with a particular file only.
I am using Autocad 2007 with all updates on a computer with 4GB RAM and latest specifications but on Windows XP Professional operating system

Hoping for a solution to the problem.

Thanks

try using the recover method on the dwg, there must be corrupt pline ends and zero lines. alos dont use network shared styles or pgp etc.

if open file works try purging all and if necessary import the dwg into an empty drawing.wulfbe2010-08-30 18:50:46

So why would you do something as drastic as reinstalling Autocad when
the problem is confined to one file only? It's obviously a problem with
the file, not Autocad.

Try running the RECOVER command, as previously suggested. If you received this file from an outside source, contact them and have them Purge and Audit the drawing and send you a new, clean, file.

I used the recover method of getting back the file. The file was opened but on commencement of working, it again gave the message - "FATAL ERROR.....".
Here i also want to mention that I am using Autocad as cad engine for my alignment design software developed by Bentley Systems, USA. Do you think if there is any conflict with the design software. This problem has occurred with one more such file but not all files.
Thanks

Try opening the file on another computer system without the alignment design software installed and see if the problem persists.
