Does anyone know why  I may be receiving this error?  I get it when trying to plot a drawing from our local server.  It happens on a random basis and also happens to other users within the department.  One drawing may plot, another may not.  If the drawing is copied to the desktop, it usually plots fine.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are printing from the desktop are you then using the system printer to print out your drawing??

If so and if the system printer prints the files consistantly than there might be something wrong with plotter file in your CAD program.

Try recreating the plotter and see if that fixes it, otherwise it will have to do with the printer it self.

Try removing one stick of (if you have multi sticks) and retry.  If still getting error try putting other memory stick in and reboot.  If that still doesn't work or you only have one stick of memory you will need to replace with new memory....Or worse you have a bad sector on harddrive that system can't read.

If it access a particular spot in memory you might get that type of error, And since it sounded like you dumped and reloaded the system, the next place to look for errors like that your memory.  But since a system has about 4 different types of memory I thought I would start you out with the easier stuff.  Because if neither the physical memory or the harddrive are the problem then you get into video, motherboard , and processor memory....OHhhhh Myyyyyyy.

Do you have another identical machine that you could swap out harddrives and try it on another system?

If so try that and see if you get the same results.  If you do it is either with the load itself of harddrive.  If it works fine then you have a problem with the hardware on the original system.

That sounds to me like a corrupt drawing file. Have you tried using the AUDIT command and check for errors in the drawing?I also found a link on the Autodesk website that may help. Click here to view.
