Good Morning:When I click on OPEN (in CAD) a window appears that says SELECT FILE the files appear as icons (PREVIEW) under views. I woiuld like for the files to be listed as DETAILS and default to this all the time. How do I do this?

I have selected details (in CAD) but when I go to open another file (in CAD) it keeps defaulting back to preview. I am running Windows Vista. ALL other programs retain the default Details....not CAD.

Any advise????Thanks for the help.Marc

Which version are you using? You need to unselect the Preview option... (at least in 2005)  or have you done this?

How do you unselect the preview option other than the how I have already done? Under views I select details etc......

I am using CAD 04 and the OS is Vista Home Premium.

Thanks for the help. I hope you can get me through this. It is getting real old having to keep clicking on Views and Details every time I go to open a CAD file.

Hmm...  Don't know about ACAD 2004...In 2005, it definitely doesn't default back to anything other than what you leave it with..  On the "Select File" dialogue box it has : Views and Tools on the top right of it..  Under Views it has :ListDetailsThumbnailsPreviewIf you have this list/setup in 2004 does Preview have a tick against it?  If so, select it and it will untick it..HTH

Thanks for the help...

I agree. I think it is a Vista deal......When we used the operating system XP CAD would not keep defaulting back to Preview it would stay as selected.....for me I like details.

Any other ideas????

Please send this out to anybody you know and see if they can advise.

THANKS.....
