I am trying to draw a guitar shape to export to a cnc router. I am trying to copy my existing guitar. Is there a way to measure multiple points around the circumference and then have the program connect these points with a best fit curved line rather than straight lines? Thank you Jeff
oK  I used the mouse to enter my points as close to the numerical xy as I could get. I can not figure out how to type in the value on the command line and generate the points exactly.  Next i used spline to draw a curved shape around the points. The problem I have there is I am trying to draw just one half of the gutar shape and will later try to mirror the line so it is an exact match. Any way spl;ine does not really let you just connect dots It seems to have a mind of its own and is always curving here and there and then when you try to stop the line when it looks perfect it suddenly changes as it tries to close.  Later after I got some thing close I zoomed in on the shape and tried to smooth obvious irregularities but for the life of me I can not figure out how to designate a portion of the curved line to try and stretch or pull or redrawThank for helping a newbie learn to draw.  Jeffjeff parker2007-09-22 18:05:02
